‘Waiting!’: Dhanush Teases Kuberaa’s Second Song with Gritty New Poster

May 25, 2025: Actor Dhanush has set social media abuzz with a gripping new poster from his upcoming film Kuberaa, just days ahead of the release of its second track titled ‘Deva’. Known for his versatility and dedication to layered characters, Dhanush appears in a rugged, intense avatar in the newly unveiled poster, further fueling curiosity about his role in the film.

The poster, shared on Instagram, features the actor in a gritty, mysterious look, continuing to keep fans guessing about the true nature of his character. Since its release, fans have flooded the comments section with messages such as “Waiting!” and “Goosebumps guaranteed,” reflecting the high anticipation around the project.

Directed by Shekhar Kammula, Kuberaa stars Dhanush, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dilip Tahil in pivotal roles. The film is a multi-lingual social thriller, shot simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. It is scheduled to hit theatres on June 20, 2025.

The first song from the movie, ‘Poyiraa Mama’, released last month, received a positive response across languages. Dhanush lent his voice to the Tamil and Telugu versions, while Nakash Aziz sang the Hindi rendition. Music for the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, with Niketh Bommireddy handling cinematography and Karthika Srinivas in charge of editing.

The storyline of Kuberaa is set to explore themes of power, wealth, and personal transformation. Dhanush portrays a homeless man from Mumbai’s Dharavi who climbs the ranks to become a powerful mafia leader. Nagarjuna plays a nuanced character whose motives remain shrouded in mystery, while Rashmika takes on the role of a woman yearning for more than her middle-class existence. Jim Sarbh will appear as a sharp and charismatic businessman.

Beyond Kuberaa, Dhanush is also working on Tere Ishk Mein with Kriti Sanon, directed by Aanand L Rai, and will portray APJ Abdul Kalam in the upcoming biopic Kalam: The Missile Man of India.

With Kuberaa blending mass appeal with a thought-provoking narrative and a stellar cast, it’s poised to be one of the most talked-about releases of 2025.
