Despite a strong opening day, the Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer earned less than its competitor, but analysts predict a surge in collections over the long holiday weekend.

August 15, 2025: War 2, Ayan Mukerji’s highly anticipated action movie, had a good opening day at the domestic box office, making an estimated ₹52.50 crore in all languages on Thursday. The movie, which stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, had a lot of competition from Rajinikanth’s new movie, Coolie, which is said to have made ₹65 crore on the same day.

War 2, the newest movie in the YRF Spy Universe, had a consistent increase in theater attendance throughout the day, with a big surge in attendance for evening and night presentations. The Hindi occupancy was 29.24 percent overall, however the movie did quite well in the South Indian regions. The Telugu version had a huge 74.97 percent occupancy, and the Tamil version had 42.41 percent.

Trade experts are hopeful about the movie’s future because it will be released at a good time. After the first day, there was a holiday on Friday for Independence Day and a weekend that included Janmashtami on Saturday. This long holiday break is expected to give its box office revenues a big boost and help the movie catch up with its rival at the box office.
