The latest installment in YRF’s Spy Universe has a strong two-day total of Rs 108 crore, but faces stiff competition from Rajinikanth’s Coolie in a neck-and-neck box office battle.
August 16, 2025: The spy thriller War 2 that everyone has been waiting for is performing quite well at the box office. Ayan Mukerji directed the movie, which was made by Yash Raj Films. On its second day of release, it made about Rs 56.50 crore, bringing its total to a respectable Rs 108 crore in just two days. The movie is now one of the Hindi movies that made Rs 100 crore the quickest.
The movie’s box office statistics were through the roof on Independence Day, and Sacnilk’s early estimates show that even more people are watching it. On Friday, the Hindi belt movie had a terrific overall occupancy rate of 51.52 percent. It did much better in the South. A lot of people wanted to see the movie because Jr. NTR was in it. 68.99 percent of people spoke Telugu.
War 2’s huge box office triumph is just one element of a much wider story. The movie has a hard time competing with Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which was out on the same day. War 2 was in the lead on Day 2, but Coolie’s stronger opening has put it in the lead with a total of Rs 118.50 crore over two days.
Analysts think that both movies will keep making money at the box office because of the long weekend and the Janmashtami holiday coming up. Fans and critics alike will still be excited to see which movie comes out on top.
