Cannes, May 21, 2025 – Janhvi Kapoor made a breathtaking debut at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, walking the red carpet for the premiere of her film Homebound. Dressed in a rose-gold couture ensemble by Tarun Tahiliani, Janhvi’s look stirred admiration and deep emotion, with many interpreting it as a poignant homage to her late mother, Sridevi.
The ethereal outfit, crafted from hand-crushed real tissue fabric specially woven in Benaras, featured a sheer veil and metallic finish that reflected a blend of tradition and modernity—an aesthetic that was quintessentially Sridevi.
