May 23, 2025: On the second day of her much-anticipated appearance at Cannes Film Festival 2025, Aishwarya Rai demonstrated grace under pressure when a minor wardrobe mishap occurred on the red carpet involving legendary actor Helen Mirren.

While posing alongside Helen Mirren and Cara Delevingne, Helen accidentally stepped on Aishwarya’s flowing cape, causing it to slip down to her elbow and briefly interrupt the photo moment. The stunning black gown with an intricately handwoven ivory Banarasi brocade cape – featuring a Sanskrit shloka – was the centerpiece of Aishwarya’s custom Gaurav Gupta look titled ‘Heiress of a Clam’.
Despite the unexpected slip, Aishwarya maintained her poise and elegance, flashing a warm smile and calmly adjusting the cape before effortlessly resuming the photo shoot. The video of the incident quickly went viral, showing Helen Mirren apologizing to Aishwarya, who accepted it with grace.
