February 11, 2025: Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance at the 2025 Super Bowl, delivering a powerful tribute to those affected by recent tragedies, including the New Orleans terror attack, the Los Angeles wildfires, deadly plane crashes in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., and victims of Hurricane Helene. The prerecorded segment aired during the pre-game coverage, with commentators Michael Strahan and Tom Brady introducing the performance, emphasizing the resilience and unity in the face of tragedy.
Gaga performed a heartfelt rendition of her 2022 ballad, “Hold My Hand,” from Top Gun: Maverick. Additionally, she debuted the music video for her new single, “Abracadabra,” during a commercial break. The video, featuring 40 backup dancers, was set in a striking black, white, and red theme.
“Abracadabra” will be featured on Gaga’s upcoming seventh album, Mayhem, which includes previously released singles “Disease” and “Die with a Smile.” Gaga spoke about the album, saying it began as a way to confront her fear of returning to the pop music her early fans adored. Mayhem will include 14 tracks and is set for release soon.
