Fans flood Bilikere streets to catch a glimpse of Thalaiva during Jailer 2 shoot; Rajinikanth responds with warmth and gratitude

Mysore, June 23, 2025 – Superstar Rajinikanth received a thunderous welcome in Bilikere, Mysore, as he resumed filming for Nelson Dilipkumar’s much-anticipated sequel, Jailer 2. Word of his presence quickly spread, prompting hundreds of fans to gather along the roads to witness their beloved Thalaiva in action.

A now-viral video shows the iconic actor emerging from the sunroof of his car, beaming as he waves at fans and acknowledges their chants. Rajinikanth’s gracious and humble demeanor—alongside his subtle gestures urging fans to stay safe amid the frenzy—once again showcased why he remains a beloved figure across generations.

Security personnel and local police struggled to manage the swelling crowd as Rajinikanth’s convoy passed by. The crowd’s enthusiasm was palpable, with people capturing videos and cheering passionately for the veteran actor.

Nelson Celebrates Birthday on Set with Rajinikanth

As shooting for Jailer 2 continues in full swing, director Nelson Dilipkumar marked his 41st birthday on set on June 21. A heartwarming moment was captured as Rajinikanth handed Nelson a bouquet, and comedian Yogi Babu fed him cake. The celebration was shared online by producers Sun Pictures, showing the camaraderie shared by the cast and crew.

About Jailer 2

In Jailer 2, Rajinikanth reprises his celebrated role of Muthuvel Pandian aka “Tiger”, alongside Ramya Krishnan, who returns as Vijaya (Viji). The film also stars Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, and Nandamuri Balakrishna, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Buzz also suggests a Bollywood cameo could be in the works.

The film is slated for release in 2026, while Rajinikanth will next be seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s “Coolie,” scheduled to release on August 14, 2025.
