Watch: Sabrina Carpenter Crashes Quinta Brunson’s SNL Musical Monologue Honoring Short Celebs Like Tom Holland & Kendrick Lamar
May 4, 2025: “Abbott Elementary” creator and star Quinta Brunson turned her height into hilarity during her second time hosting Saturday Night Live on May 3. Rather than delivering a traditional monologue, Brunson broke into a musical number dedicated to the joys and perks of being short — and she did it with style, sass, and backup dancers.
“Shorties, tonight, this one’s for us,” Brunson declared on stage, before listing off the humorous upsides of her height — from getting “wasted on one glass of wine” to turning crop tops into full dresses. The comedic anthem turned into a celebration of Hollywood’s successful, shorter-than-average celebrities, including Olympic icon Simone Biles (4’8”), actor Tom Holland (5’7”), and rapper Kendrick Lamar (5’5”).
Midway through the performance, Brunson was joined by pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter, who jumped in with witty height-related jokes of her own: “When you eat short rib, does it just taste like rib?” she quipped. The duo also gave a shoutout to The Bear actor Jeremy Allen White (5’7”), before ending the number by joyfully proclaiming that life is “just more fun when you’re fun-sized.”
While Carpenter didn’t perform musically on the show, the evening’s official musical guest was rising star Benson Boone. Boone, fresh off a buzz-worthy Coachella performance, was also a fellow 2025 Grammy nominee for Best New Artist — a category Carpenter was also in. The award ultimately went to Chappell Roan.
The lighthearted number proved once again that Brunson knows how to make the most of a stage — and that humor, like talent, comes in all sizes.
