April 27, 2025: Actor Vijay Deverakonda expressed his strong condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack that occurred on April 22, during a press meet for his film Retro in Hyderabad. The actor, who has fond memories of shooting in Kashmir, emphasized the importance of staying united to defeat terrorism and urged the need for education to prevent brainwashing by terrorist organizations. He also made pointed remarks about Pakistan’s struggles with providing basic necessities for its citizens, calling for a united India to rise above such threats.
Vijay, who had filmed Kushi in Kashmir, shared his positive experiences with the region and its people. He stated, “Kashmir belongs to India, and Kashmiris are ours.” Addressing the ongoing struggles faced by Pakistan, he expressed frustration with their inability to take care of their own citizens, adding, “Pakistan can’t even look after their own people.”
The actor’s comments echoed the sentiments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who, in the 121st episode of Mann Ki Baat, also condemned the attack and emphasized national unity as the strongest weapon in the fight against terrorism. PM Modi pointed out that the attack came at a time when Kashmir was seeing positive changes, including a rise in tourism, stronger democracy, and improved living conditions for its people.
Prime Minister Modi reassured the nation that the perpetrators of the attack would face the harshest consequences, while also acknowledging the global condemnation and support from around the world. He urged citizens to stay united and resolute in the fight against terrorism, underscoring that the strength of 1.4 billion Indians is the key to overcoming such challenges.
Both Vijay Deverakonda and PM Modi’s messages reflect a call for unity and resilience in the face of terrorism, emphasizing the need for education, compassion, and a collective will to safeguard the peace and progress that Kashmir is witnessing.
