While Season 2 is currently streaming, Netflix has already greenlit a third season, with showrunners teasing more Addams Family secrets and significant character shakeups ahead.
August 9, 2025: Wednesday Season 3 – Netflix is digging down on its supernatural phenomenon by announcing a third season for Wednesday, even while the first part of Season 2 is still streaming. The news, which came out in July 2025, shows how sure the streamer is that the show will do well in the future.
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the show’s creators, said that the goal for Season 3 is to “make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can.” They want to learn more about the characters’ complicated lives while also making the dark and enigmatic world of Nevermore Academy bigger. Millar also hinted that fans may expect “more Addams Family members and learning more family secrets.” This suggests that the show’s lore will be explored in more depth.
Even though the third season won’t come out for a few more years, it’s already been revealed that some of the characters will change. Jamie McShane, Christina Ricci, Thandiwe Newton, and Percy Hynes White will not be playing the same parts again. The show should keep its eight-episode schedule, which is what the first two seasons did.
Fans can now stream Season 2, Part 1 on Netflix and become lost in the mystery of Nevermore as it unfolds.
