June 18, 2025: The much-awaited Akshay Kumar starrer Welcome to the Jungle has temporarily halted its shoot — and contrary to earlier speculation, the delay has nothing to do with unpaid dues. While some reports suggested financial hurdles, insiders reveal that the real reason is the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir, where the final phase of the shoot was scheduled.
Directed by Ahmed Khan, the mega comedy ensemble features 34 actors, including big names like Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Anil Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, and Jacqueline Fernandez. So far, 70% of the film has been completed. The remaining 30% was to be filmed in Kashmir with elaborate arrangements involving helicopters, 250 horses, and 1200 junior artists.

Due to the security situation, the Kashmir schedule has been postponed. However, production is far from derailed. “Everything is on track,” confirmed a source. “The entire team is pumped to resume shooting post-monsoon at a new, safer location.”
Earlier, a Pinkvilla report hinted at financial roadblocks and even cast members exiting the project over pending dues. However, sources close to the film refuted the claims, stating that while the project has faced scheduling challenges, most actors remain committed out of love for the Welcome franchise.
Originally announced in 2023, Welcome to the Jungle made waves with a fun a cappella-style teaser featuring its full star cast. The film was set for a Christmas 2025 release, though the latest delay may push that timeline further.
