‘What a Joke!’: Internet Roasts Billy Ray Cyrus for Calling Elizabeth Hurley ‘Love of My Life’ After 3 Divorces

June 11, 2025: At 63, country music star Billy Ray Cyrus has sparked a social media storm after calling Elizabeth Hurley, 60, the “love of his life” in a birthday post that drew both admiration and eye-rolls online.

Sharing a cozy photo of Hurley sitting on his lap, Billy wrote on Instagram,

“Happy birthday to the love of my life ❤️.”
The pair are seen smiling in the sun, Liz wearing a red shirt and straw hat, and Billy sporting his signature long dark hair.

While many fans sent birthday wishes and cheered on the couple’s happiness, not everyone was convinced. Some followers took to the comments to question Billy’s bold declaration, especially given his relationship history.

“How many loves of your life have you had in the last 10 years?” one person quipped.
“You change the love of your life like your underwear,” another wrote.
“I’m sure your kids are happy to hear that,” one user commented sarcastically.

Despite the criticism, Billy and Liz’s relationship seems to be going strong. They met in 2022 while filming Christmas in Paradise on the Caribbean island of Nevis. Although they didn’t share much screen time, Billy recalled an instant “chemistry.”

“We just laughed, and it came at a time when I wasn’t laughing much,” he shared in an interview on The Ty Bentli Show.
He also admitted feeling intimidated by Liz’s fame, calling himself “a kid from Flatwoods” trying to act alongside the British actress.

Their bond grew over shared moments of laughter, but after filming wrapped, they lost touch—until fate brought them back together again.

Billy Ray Cyrus: Love Life in the Spotlight

Billy’s romantic history is no secret. He was married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991, and then to Tish Cyrus from 1993 to 2022. The couple had five children together, including pop stars Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus.
In 2023, Billy tied the knot with Australian singer Firerose, but their marriage ended within a year.

Elizabeth Hurley: From Hugh Grant to Shane Warne

Liz has had her share of high-profile romances too. She dated Hugh Grant from 1987 to 2000 and remains close to him. She later had a son, Damian Hurley, with the late Steve Bing. In 2007, she married Indian businessman Arun Nayar, but they divorced in 2011. That same year, she got engaged to Australian cricket legend Shane Warne, but the engagement was called off in 2013.

Now, with both Billy and Liz finding love again later in life, fans are watching closely—but not without their skepticism.
