October 15, 2024: Despite the massive success of Stree 2, which became the first Hindi movie to surpass the ₹600 crore mark in India, actor Rajkummar Rao has set the record straight about his financial standing. In a candid interview on the YouTube channel Unfiltered with Samdish, Rajkummar addressed the misconceptions about his wealth.

The National Award-winning actor revealed that while people may assume he has a net worth of ₹100 crore, the reality is far different. “I’m still paying a large EMI for my house,” Rajkummar shared, adding that his finances are more grounded than many might think.

Speaking about luxury purchases, he dismissed the idea of easily splurging on big-ticket items like a ₹6 crore car. He explained that while he could buy a car worth ₹50 lakh after some thought, and could comfortably afford a ₹20 lakh vehicle, he isn’t in a position to walk into a showroom and buy a luxury car without a second thought.

Rajkummar also shared an insightful perspective on how sudden wealth might negatively impact actors’ mentalities. According to him, acquiring large sums of money too quickly can alter how an actor views their work and the world.

Rajkummar Rao’s career remains on an upward trajectory. Following the success of Stree 2, his comedy Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video alongside Triptii Dimri, Vijay Raaz, and Mallika Sherawat has grossed close to Rs. 20 Crore so far.

Stree 2 raked in ₹855.86 crore globally, with ₹711.86 crore coming from the Indian market and ₹144 crore from overseas. The movie was released on August 15, 2024, and started streaming on Amazon Prime Video India on October 10.
