July 12, 2025: Youtube New Monetization Update – YouTube has reiterated its eligibility requirements for monetization for creators who want to become members of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). The fundamental thresholds don’t change in spite of shifting platform dynamics and content trends.
A channel needs to fulfill the following requirements in order to be eligible for monetization:
1,000 members, and
Either
4,000 hours of legitimate public observation throughout the previous 12 months, or
Ten million legitimate Shorts views throughout the previous ninety days
Before creators may begin making money from advertisements, memberships, Super Chats, and other revenue features, these standards make sure they are consistently creating content and actively interacting with audiences.
YouTube’s policy permits creators to make money from long-form videos or short-form content through YouTube Shorts, while still preserving community standards and content quality throughout the network.
These standards provide new and up-and-coming content producers with an essential initial step as the creative economy becomes more competitive.
