The actors, who played Sansa Stark and Jon Snow, have reunited for the upcoming gothic horror The Dreadful, but filming their intimate scenes was one of the “most difficult experiences” of their careers.
August 16, 2025: Sophie Turner and Kit Harington, best known for playing siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow on HBO’s Game of Thrones, have reunited for a new project, but their on-screen chemistry is proving to be a challenge. Turner revealed that filming their intimate scenes for the upcoming gothic horror film The Dreadful was one of the most awkward experiences of her career.

During an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Turner, who is also a producer on the film, explained that she did not fully read the script before offering the role to Harington.
“I just got this script for this amazing Gothic horror called The Dreadful,” Turner recalled. “I was reading through all the characters… and immediately the first person I thought of was Kit.”
Turner said she sent the script to Harington, who messaged her back, saying, “Yeah, I’d love to, but this is going to be really weird.” Confused, Turner reread the script and realized with a shock that their characters had multiple romantic and intimate scenes. “I’m like, ‘kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, shoot, that’s my brother’,” she quipped.
Despite the initial discomfort, both actors, recognizing the strength of the script, agreed to continue with the project. However, Turner admitted that the first kissing scene was “the worst.” “We are both retching. Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst. Another really bad moment in my career,” she said.
The Dreadful, which is directed by Natasha Kermani, is currently in post-production with no official release date. The film’s plot is described as a two-person rivalry that takes place over a single night. The cast’s on-screen history as siblings from the globally popular Game of Thrones is now adding a layer of behind-the-scenes drama to the highly-anticipated reunion.
