What Made Zac Affleck Question Reality TV While Holding His Baby?

July 7, 2025: Zac Affleck is completely smitten with his newborn daughter! The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, 28, took to Instagram on July 6 to share an adorable series of photos and videos featuring baby Penelope Phyliss Affleck, his and wife Jen Affleck’s third child.

In the heartwarming post, Zac is seen cradling Penelope at the hospital, wrapped in a towel, while other pictures capture the newborn peacefully sleeping and stretching at home. One video even shows Zac holding a snoozing Penelope while SLOMW plays on the TV. “One week with our Penny girl 🤍 See the last video to get her thoughts on reality TV 😝,” he joked in the caption.

“Who are these people?” Zac quips in the video, glancing at the reunion show. Jen laughs from behind the camera, adding, “These people are crazy.”

The couple, who announced Penelope’s arrival on July 2, are also parents to daughter Nora, 3, and son Luca, 23 months. They marked their sixth wedding anniversary earlier this year in February.

Jen, 26, opened up about her unmedicated birth experience in a shared Instagram post: “Baby Penelope is here 🤍 & she is perfect. Going unmedicated was truly the most painful but empowering experience of my life… I’m so grateful and so happy that Penny is earth side now🤍.”

The sweet carousel included raw images from the delivery room, showing Jen in labor supported by Zac. Notably, the pregnancy was discovered during a rocky phase in their marriage, as documented on Season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

“I was stressed out of my mind with the thought of being pregnant,” Jen admitted in a confessional. “Because Zac and I aren’t on the best of terms. And I think the last thing we need is another baby.”

Despite the turmoil, the couple has since reconciled. Jen and her SLOMW co-star Whitney Leavitt were also announced as contestants on the next season of Dancing with the Stars, revealed during the reunion episode that aired July 1.

Just days later, Jen posted a cheeky video dancing in a hospital gown while Zac held baby Penelope in bed. “My pelvic floor might not be ready… but I sure am 👀💃🪩 @dancingwiththestars,” she wrote. Zac couldn’t resist a humorous comment: “The doctor coming in 5 minutes prior and telling you no physical activity for 6 weeks 😂😂.”
