What Shloka Ambani Tells Her Kids Before Work Will Melt Your Heart

July 20, 2025: Shloka Ambani, entrepreneur and philanthropist, recently gave a rare and heartfelt glimpse into her life on Masoom Minawala’s podcast, where she spoke candidly about balancing motherhood, work, and her deep-rooted passion for social impact.

Best known for her work with ConnectFor, a platform she co-founded in 2014 to connect volunteers with NGOs, Shloka revealed the personal motivations that drive her: not fame or accolades, but purpose. “All careers are valid,” she said. “Even if it takes time to build, it matters if you believe in it.”

Her inspiration stems in part from her role as a mother. She shared a touching routine—before leaving for work, she tells her children, “Just like you go to school, Mama goes to the office.” For her, this is more than just an explanation—it’s a lesson in values. “Work isn’t just about earning, it’s about growing and doing something meaningful,” she said.

Shloka’s venture ConnectFor began with a simple goal: to make volunteering more accessible. Since its inception, the platform has helped over 1,000 NGOs and facilitated lakhs of volunteer hours. But as she explained, starting something impactful is only half the challenge. “It’s not just about building something. It’s about maintaining it, educating people to use it, and making sure it lasts.”

Despite being part of India’s most high-profile family, Shloka emphasized the importance of staying grounded. “Legacy isn’t what you leave in a will,” she reflected. “It’s what you leave in people. It’s how you make them think, feel, and act.”

She also credited her support system—her parents, in-laws, and husband Akash Ambani—for playing a major role in her journey. “They’re not just supportive—they’re proud,” she said.

Shloka’s story is not one of perfection, but of purpose. In a world that often expects women to do it all, she offers a refreshing message: you don’t have to be extraordinary—you just have to be real.

Her approach is simple yet powerful—show up, care deeply, and do what you can to make a difference. And for Shloka Mehta Ambani, that’s more than enough.
