July 8, 2025: Regina Hall is buzzing with excitement about her new movie alongside Leonardo DiCaprio — and it’s easy to see why. While promoting her recent partnership with Bounty, the 54-year-old actress opened up about filming One Battle After Another, calling the experience “amazing.”

Hall says she jumped at the chance to work with acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson. “I’m a big fan of his,” she shares. “When I read the script, I was incredibly curious: ‘What is this movie?’ It had laughter, strong messaging, wit, and so much depth.”

Based on Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vineland, the Warner Bros. dark comedy follows a group of ex-revolutionaries who reunite 16 years later to confront a familiar threat. Leonardo DiCaprio, 50, stars as Bob Ferguson, with Hall playing Deandra. The ensemble includes major names like Benicio del Toro, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn, and Alana Haim. “It’s an incredible group,” Hall says. “I love Leo, Benicio, Sean — and Teyana is amazing.”
Hall praises Anderson’s visionary filmmaking, saying, “There’s no part that’s insignificant — even one line is carefully crafted.” One Battle After Another is Anderson’s first film since Licorice Pizza and has already generated Oscar buzz ahead of its September 26 release. DiCaprio debuted the trailer on YouTube earlier this year and called it “an incredibly epic movie” during CinemaCon, where he joined Hall and Taylor onstage to promote the film.
In addition to this exciting project, Hall has several others lined up, including Peacock’s The Five-Star Weekend, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants (in theaters December 19), and Girls Trip 2.
