Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently shared an amusing and emotional cricket memory from his personal life that left fans in splits—and stunned a Pakistan cricket legend.

Speaking in an interview with Lallantop, Aamir Khan revealed that he secretly married his first wife Reena Dutta on April 18, 1986—the same day Javed Miandad smashed a last-ball six against India in the final of the Austral-Asia Cup at Sharjah, a moment that remains etched in the hearts of Indian cricket fans for all the wrong reasons.
“We got married secretly, didn’t inform our parents. When we got home, we were nervous, but no one noticed. Everyone was watching the match,” Khan recalled. “India was winning, so I was happy that my wedding day was going well. But then… Miandad hit that six. I was devastated.”
The actor, known for his deep love of cricket, admitted that Miandad’s six left a mark not just on India, but on his personal milestone as well. “I told Javed Bhai years later on a flight, ‘Aapne meri shaadi barbaad kar di (You ruined my wedding). I went into depression that day.’”
The anecdote adds another layer to the enduring Bollywood-cricket bond. Aamir Khan, who attended the 2011 World Cup final and Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell Test at Wankhede, has long been a passionate cricket follower.
Miandad, for his part, is a Pakistani cricket legend, with 8,832 runs in 124 Tests and 7,381 in 233 ODIs. His last-ball six in 1986 off Chetan Sharma remains one of the most iconic and controversial moments in India-Pakistan cricket history.
