Brad Pitt claims ex-wife Angelina Jolie violated a mutual agreement by secretly selling her stake in their French winery, reigniting a bitter legal battle nearly a decade after their separation.
July-10, 2025: Nearly nine years after their high-profile separation, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie remain locked in a contentious legal dispute—this time over Chateau Miraval, the French vineyard and estate the former couple once jointly owned.

According to court documents filed on June 30, Pitt is now demanding access to private communications from Jolie as part of an effort to prove she sold her stake in the property without his consent—a move he says violated their past agreement.

The 61-year-old actor is also seeking a deposition and documents from Alexey Oliynik, an employee of the Stoli Group, which acquired Jolie’s share in 2021. Pitt’s legal team alleges Oliynik possesses crucial information related to the sale. However, Oliynik, who resides in Switzerland, has refused to testify or submit records, citing international jurisdiction.

🏰 The Heart of the Dispute: Chateau Miraval
Pitt argues that Jolie acted “with malice” by knowingly selling her share to Tenute del Mondo, the wine division of Stoli—a buyer he had long opposed. He claims her actions breached their mutual agreement, which required both parties to approve any stake sale.

This isn’t the first time the winery has sparked courtroom drama. In 2022, Pitt filed a lawsuit claiming Jolie’s sale was unlawful. Jolie countersued, accusing Pitt of vindictive behavior and controlling tactics, including demanding she sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) as a condition for buying her out.
🛫 The Jet Incident & Legal Backdrop
The legal tension has also revisited a disturbing 2016 private jet incident, where Pitt was allegedly verbally and physically abusive—an event Jolie’s lawyers claim has fueled years of acrimony. While no charges were filed, the accusations remain a point of friction.
Despite their divorce being finalized in December 2023, the battle over Chateau Miraval has refused to settle. In 2024, a judge ordered Jolie to submit eight years’ worth of NDAs issued to others, shedding further light on the messy aftermath of Hollywood’s once-golden couple.
