Why Does 'Dil Thaam Ke' Remind Everyone Of 'Aaj Ki Raat'?
June 20, 2025: The latest track from Maalik, titled “Dil Thaam Ke“, has set the internet buzzing—both with praise and déjà vu. Featuring Huma Qureshi in a dazzling avatar, the dance number was released on Friday and instantly drew comparisons with Tamannaah Bhatia’s recent chartbuster “Aaj Ki Raat” from Stree 2.
Set in a grungy shed with vibrant lighting and dynamic choreography, the video showcases Huma leading a group of female dancers through a high-energy performance. Dressed in bold attire, she commands the frame with her powerful moves and magnetic presence.
Rajkummar Rao, who plays a gangster in Maalik, makes a brief appearance in the song. He enters the setting flanked by his men, catching Huma’s character’s attention. While she attempts to pull him into the dance frenzy, his character resists, maintaining his brooding gangster persona.

While Huma’s performance earned appreciation from fans, several social media users pointed out the visual and choreographic similarities to “Aaj Ki Raat”, sparking a debate about creative repetition in Bollywood dance numbers.
One user commented, “Why does every dance number now look like a remix of Aaj Ki Raat?” while another wrote, “Huma killed it, no doubt. But the setting and vibe? Seen it all before.”
Despite the comparisons, Dil Thaam Ke has managed to grab attention for its energy and Huma’s screen presence, adding more anticipation to the film’s release.
Maalik, starring Rajkummar Rao in a gritty, crime-laced role, is directed by Pulkit and is expected to release later this year.
