Why Is Olivia Rodrigo Giving Free Therapy to Her Entire Team?

July 9, 2025: Olivia Rodrigo is not only earning praise for her chart-topping music but also for how she takes care of her team behind the scenes. On the StageLeft Podcast (June 30), Rodrigo’s touring guitarist Daisy Spencer revealed that the 22-year-old Grammy winner covers the cost of free therapy for her entire band and crew — both on and off tour.

“On the Guts World Tour, Olivia and our tour manager, Marty Hom, made accessible and free therapy available to all touring personnel,” said Spencer, 31. “I have never had anything like that.”

Spencer described it as a life-changing gift: “It reignited the importance of therapy for me. I had just kind of fallen off for so long, and suddenly I had this free resource of incredible therapists — and I utilized the crap out of that.” She went on to say that having therapy available helped her process past trauma, especially from childhood. “It’s been a gift for real. One of the best things you can give people is accessible therapy, because it can get kind of expensive,” she added. Near the end of the podcast, Spencer gushed about Rodrigo, calling her: “Literally the dreamiest boss of all time.” Rodrigo herself has been vocal about the value of mental health support. Her father, Chris Rodrigo, is a family therapist, and she previously spoke to CBS Sunday Morning in 2021 about how therapy has helped her manage emotions and channel them into her songwriting.

While her music often explores heartbreak and emotional struggles, Olivia Rodrigo says she’s not the tearful girl many fans imagine. “I’m not crying on my bedroom floor all the time,” she said, laughing. “But it’s fun to write about stuff like that.” Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour has taken her across five continents in 2024 and 2025, with recent performances including a set at Glastonbury, where she shared the stage with The Cure’s Robert Smith.
