Why Salman Khan’s ‘Battle of Galwan’ Mumbai Shoot Shelved?

Due to creative considerations, the film’s Mumbai shoot was postponed, and filming will now commence with an action-heavy schedule in Ladakh to maintain continuity for Salman Khan’s distinct look.

August 9, 2025: The highly-anticipated movie Battle of Galwan starring Salman Khan has had a change in its production schedule, and the intended shoot in Mumbai has been pushed back. The sets at Mehboob Studios are being taken down right now, and filming will now go straight to a tough schedule in Ladakh, which starts on August 22.

Director Apoorva Lakhia is said to have made the decision for both creative and practical grounds. An insider says that Salman Khan’s unique look for the character could have made continuity harder if there been a 30-day gap between the Mumbai and Ladakh shooting. The team thought it was very important to film the high-octane action scenes one after the other, therefore the Ladakh shoot was their first priority. It could be necessary to go back to the Mumbai schedule later to add more scenes or songs.

The movie is based on the fight between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in 2020. The Ministry of Defence has certified that the movie has all the necessary approvals, putting to rest any suspicions of official problems. The designers mentioned that the initiative is a tribute to the valor of Indian warriors.

Battle of Galwan is a new movie that brings together Salman Khan and actress Chitrangda Singh. Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, and others are also in the cast. Salman Khan has been working hard to be ready for the physically difficult part, even exercising in a high-pressure chamber to mimic the height of Ladakh.
