July 1, 2025: Glen Powell is back—and this time, he’s running for his life. After a streak of recent hits like Hit Man, Anyone but You, and Twisters, the 36-year-old actor takes on a darker, more intense role in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man, a modern reimagining of the 1987 cult classic originally led by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Based on Stephen King’s gripping 1982 novel, the film follows Ben Richards (played by Powell), a blue-collar worker forced to participate in a dystopian TV game show to win life-saving treatment for his sick daughter. The brutal catch? He must survive 30 days while being hunted by a team of state-sanctioned killers, all under the watchful eyes of a bloodthirsty public. Each passing day ups the stakes—and the prize.

The trailer teases heart-pounding action, social commentary, and a charismatic cast. Colman Domingo dazzles as the manipulative game show host, Bobby Thompson. Joining the cast are Katy O’Brian as a fellow Runner, Lee Pace as a deadly Hunter, and Michael Cera as a rebellious insider named Bradley. Rounding out the ensemble are William H. Macy, Emilia Jones, Daniel Ezra, and Jayme Lawson.

Directed by Edgar Wright, known for his high-energy, genre-blending hits like Baby Driver and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the film features a script co-written with Michael Bacall, promising sharp dialogue and breakneck pacing.
