‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ Sets October 29 Premiere Date on Disney Channel

Disney Channel’s eagerly awaited sequel series, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, is set to cast its spell on audiences just in time for Halloween. The new series will premiere with back-to-back episodes on October 29, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, as confirmed by Deadline and Disney’s official Instagram.

Following its premiere, the first eight episodes will be available for streaming on Disney+ and Disney Channel On Demand starting the next day, offering fans a magical binge-watching experience.

Adding to the excitement, former Disney Channel stars Raven-Symoné and Danielle Fishel have been announced as directors for some of the episodes, according to Deadline, further heightening anticipation for the series.

Earlier this month, a first-look video gave fans a sneak peek at the return of beloved characters Justin and Alex Russo, portrayed by David Henrie and Selena Gomez. The clip, which aired during the premiere of Descendants: The Rise of Red, also introduced several new cast members, including Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo.

Selena Gomez is set to make a special guest appearance in the first episode, while David Henrie will continue to play a central role throughout the season, alongside the rest of the cast.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place follows the adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to lead a normal life with his family—Giada, Roman, and Milo—leaving his magical past behind. However, his world is turned upside down when his sister Alex arrives with Billie, a young wizard-in-training in need of guidance. As Justin balances mentoring Billie with his daily responsibilities, he finds himself reluctantly drawn back into the world of magic, all while ensuring the future of the Wizard World remains protected.

The series is crafted by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who serve as writers and executive producers, alongside Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Selena Gomez, and David Henrie. Andy Fickman, who directed and executive-produced the pilot, will also direct several episodes of the series.

The original show, Wizards of Waverly Place, was created by Todd Greenwald and became a fan favorite during its run from 2007 to 2012. With the return of familiar faces and the introduction of new characters, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place promises to deliver a blend of nostalgia and fresh magical adventures, making it a must-watch for both new viewers and long-time fans.
