Actor calls for decisive action from PM Modi and Amit Shah; joins national outcry as India mourns loss of innocent lives in Pahalgam Terror Attack

Mumbai, April 23:
In the wake of the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, actor Anupam Kher released a deeply emotional video message, expressing grief and righteous anger over the massacre of innocent tourists. The actor, a vocal advocate for Kashmiri Pandits, urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to take firm and lasting action against the terrorists.

“There is no limit to my anger and rage,” said Kher in a heartfelt video. “Sometimes, words feel meaningless when the pain runs so deep.”

🎥 “This Is Wrong… In Any Part of the World”

Taking to his official X account, Anupam Kher condemned the selective targeting of Hindus in Pahalgam and called the tragedy a continuation of the pain depicted in The Kashmir Files, a film many had earlier dismissed as “propaganda.”

“They are choosing victims by religion… It is horrifying. The grief of a woman crying over her murdered husband is burned into my mind,” Kher added, visibly shaken.

The veteran actor concluded his video with a strong appeal to India’s leadership:

“I urge the Prime Minister and Home Minister to teach these terrorists a lesson so severe that they’ll be afraid for seven lifetimes.”

🎙️ Bollywood Voices Join in Condemnation

Actor Sonu Sood echoed national sentiment, writing:

“Terrorism has no place in a civilized world. My condolences to the families and prayers for the injured. Om Sai Ram.”

“The world must come together to end terrorism. Innocent people suffer every time. My heart goes out to the victims’ families.”

🇮🇳 Government and National Response

In response to the attack, PM Modi cut short his state visit to Saudi Arabia, returning to New Delhi early Wednesday. He immediately convened a high-level briefing at Palam Airport with EAM Dr S. Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval, and other top officials.

“Those behind this heinous act will not be spared. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and will grow stronger,” the Prime Minister said.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also aborted her international trip to return home.

🔍 Security Measures and Civil Protests

The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched massive search operations across the Pahalgam region to track down the attackers. Meanwhile, widespread candlelight vigils and protests erupted in Baramulla, Srinagar, Poonch, Kupwara, and Jammu.

Residents, civil groups, and youth organizations, including Bajrang Dal, staged demonstrations, demanding justice for the victims and a crackdown on those responsible.

As India mourns the loss of innocent lives, the nation stands united in grief and defiance, vowing to never let terrorism prevail—in Pahalgam or anywhere else.
