Work First: Salman Returns to Bigg Boss 18 Despite New Rs. 5 Crore Ransom Demand

October 19, 2024: Salman Khan continues to put his work first, even amid a series of death threats. The Bollywood superstar resumed his duties as the host of Bigg Boss 18, appearing on Friday to film another episode of Weekend Ka Vaar. This is despite a new Rs. 5 Crore ransom demand.

A teaser for Saturday’s episode was shared online, marking Salman’s first public appearance since the passing of his close friend, politician Baba Siddique.

Back on Bigg Boss: In the promo, Salman appeared less energetic than usual as he addressed some of the housemates’ behaviour from the past week. He called out Avinash for his inappropriate actions, especially his recent heated argument with Chum Darang, during which Avinash allegedly made racist comments.

Referring to his own experiences with public scrutiny, Salman said, “Mere par bhi bahut saare laalchan lagae gae hain (I have been accused of many things). I know what my parents go through.” He then shifted focus to Arfeen Khan, reprimanding him for his unwillingness to listen to others. When Arfeen admitted this, Salman sarcastically remarked that everyone in the house, including himself, seemed to be beneath Arfeen.

Threats Against Salman Khan: Amid his professional commitments, Salman is also dealing with security concerns. On Friday, the Mumbai traffic police received a threat message on their WhatsApp helpline demanding ₹5 crore from Salman Khan. The message warned that the threat should be taken seriously. A case was filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for extortion and threat. While the Crime Branch initially investigated the threat, it was later determined to be non-serious, and the local police have since taken over the investigation.

This is not the first time Salman has been targeted. He previously faced threats from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Members of the gang had even fired shots outside his Bandra home in April. In a related development, Navi Mumbai police uncovered a plot by the Bishnoi gang to kill Salman in June and arrested one of its shooters, Sukhbir Singh from Panipat, Haryana.

Despite these ongoing threats, Salman remains committed to his work, balancing his professional responsibilities with the safety concerns surrounding him.
