World Health Day | Ram Kapoor on Losing 55 Kg: “Took Me 6 Months to Change Mentally, But I Still Wake Up Grateful”

Ram Kapoor shares his powerful health transformation journey, emphasizing mindset over weight loss and urging people to prioritize long-term wellness over short-term goals.

Mumbai | April 7, 2025 — Actor Ram Kapoor, who stunned fans with his 55 kg weight loss, opened up about his transformation on World Health Day. The 51-year-old star credits not just workouts or diets, but a complete mindset shift for the massive change in his life.

“I Was the Ambassador of Ill Health”

Ram began his journey when he turned 50, realising he couldn’t continue down an unhealthy path — especially with children looking up to him. “I had become an ambassador for ill health. But I have a personal life too. I couldn’t promote that to my children,” said Ram, father to daughter Sia and son Aks.

He gave himself one year to turn things around — and he did, with stunning results.

“People Obsess Over Weight Loss – That’s the Mistake”

The Ghar Ek Mandir and Bade Ache Lagte Hai actor emphasized that the biggest mistake people make is focusing on losing weight, not gaining health.

“In the last five years, I lost 30 kg twice. But I gained it back because I only targeted weight loss. This time, I stopped obsessing over weight and focused only on becoming healthy. That’s what truly worked.”

He added, “There are many fat people who are healthier than three slim people combined. Don’t chase being thin. Chase being fit.”

Mental Transformation Came First

Ram said that the real transformation began inside. “I gave myself 6 months to completely change mentally. I researched, watched podcasts, listened to experts, and rewired my thinking.”

Now, the gym isn’t a chore. “This is the best thing I’ve achieved. It’s fun. Where is the toughness in that?”

Age Is Just a Number

Addressing concerns of starting late, Ram says, “It’s never too late. People start at 70. Of course, it’s not as easy as when you’re 30. But if your mind is set — you can, and you will.”

“Think About the Last 15 Years of Your Life”

Ram left fans with a powerful message: “Do you want to be in a wheelchair, or do you want to be self-reliant till your last breath? That’s the question. If you want to stay on your feet, start working on your health today.”

From a television heartthrob to a wellness inspiration, Ram Kapoor’s story proves that with the right mindset, it’s never too late to begin again — and win.
