Yash Kicks Off Ramayana Shoot, Flaunts Ravana Avatar in Leaked Set Images

A series of viral photos from the set have taken the internet by storm, showcasing the KGF actor in a rugged, powerful avatar — a clear transformation for one of the most iconic antagonists in Indian mythology.

Currently being filmed on grand sets in Mumbai, Ramayana is shaping up to be a massive project, both in scale and vision. The action-packed sequences featuring Yash are being designed by legendary Hollywood stunt director Guy Norris, best known for his work in Mad Max: Fury Road and The Suicide Squad. His presence in India has only amplified excitement for the film’s high-octane battle choreography, especially with Yash at the center of it all.

According to reports, Yash is expected to shoot for around 60–70 days for Ramayana Part 1, where his Ravana will unfold through a grand, layered narrative. His portrayal is set to be fierce, intense, and grounded in mythology, yet reimagined with a cinematic scale never seen before.

While Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, fans may be surprised to learn that the two stars will barely share screen space in the film. Sources close to the production confirmed that the film closely follows Valmiki’s original Ramayana, where Ram and Ravana’s paths do not cross until the climactic battle. “Their worlds remain apart, their stories unfolding in parallel until destiny brings them face-to-face,” the source said. This decision adds authenticity to the adaptation and builds anticipation for their eventual confrontation.

With an estimated budget of ₹835 crore, Ramayana is being produced in two installments. Part 1 is scheduled to release during Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027. Ranbir Kapoor has reportedly already wrapped up his portions of the shoot.

As filming progresses, Ramayana is not just a film — it’s fast becoming one of the most ambitious cinematic events in Indian history.
