YouTube Updates Rules, ‘No’ To AI Content
July 10, 2025: In a significant move aimed at promoting quality content, YouTube announced major changes to its Partner Program monetization policy, effective from July 15, 2025. Under the new rules, creators will only be eligible to earn money if their videos are original and authentic.
YouTube’s updated policy comes amid growing concerns about the rise of recycled, copied, or non-original content flooding the platform. The company aims to reward creators who invest effort and creativity into producing unique videos, ensuring viewers get genuine and engaging experiences.
Previously, creators could monetize videos that included reused or repurposed content, sometimes resulting in monetization of videos that lacked originality. From mid-July, YouTube will strictly enforce originality standards, meaning:
This policy shift is expected to impact a wide range of creators, especially those relying heavily on reaction videos, compilations, or content aggregation without significant original input. YouTube encourages creators to focus on producing authentic, creative, and value-adding content.
A YouTube spokesperson said, “We are committed to fostering a platform where creators can thrive through originality and creativity. These changes will help ensure that monetization rewards those who contribute genuine value to our community.”
Creators are advised to review their content strategies and align with the updated guidelines to continue monetizing their videos seamlessly.
