YouTuber Thoppi Detained for Pointing Air Gun at Bus Staff in Road Rage Case

The viral content creator was released after the weapon was identified as an air gun and no formal complaint was filed

Kozhikode, April 16, 2025 – Popular Kerala-based YouTuber Thoppi, whose real name is Nihad, was taken into custody on Tuesday evening after allegedly pointing a gun at private bus staff during a road altercation in Vatakara, Kozhikode district.

🔫 Incident Involved Air Gun, Not a Firearm

According to police, the dispute began when a private bus overtook Thoppi’s car, prompting the YouTuber to follow the vehicle and confront the bus crew in Vatakara. During the heated exchange, Thoppi allegedly brandished a gun, which was later identified as a non-lethal air gun that does not require a license.

“Both parties were brought to the police station. The weapon was confirmed to be an airgun and no official complaint was filed by the bus staff, so he was released,” a Vatakara police officer confirmed.

🚨 Not Thoppi’s First Run-In With the Law

This isn’t the first time Thoppi has faced controversy. He was recently booked by police in Malappuram for allegedly causing a traffic block and making objectionable remarks during the public inauguration of a local shop.
