
YouTuber Thoppi Detained for Pointing Air Gun at Bus Staff in Road Rage
Kozhikode, April 16, 2025 – Popular Kerala-based YouTuber Thoppi, whose real name is Nihad, was taken into custody on Tuesday evening after allegedly pointing a gun at private bus staff during a road altercation in Vatakara, Kozhikode district.

According to police, the dispute began when a private bus overtook Thoppi’s car, prompting the YouTuber to follow the vehicle and confront the bus crew in Vatakara. During the heated exchange, Thoppi allegedly brandished a gun, which was later identified as a non-lethal air gun that does not require a license.

“Both parties were brought to the police station. The weapon was confirmed to be an airgun and no official complaint was filed by the bus staff, so he was released,” a Vatakara police officer confirmed.
This isn’t the first time Thoppi has faced controversy. He was recently booked by police in Malappuram for allegedly causing a traffic block and making objectionable remarks during the public inauguration of a local shop.
Despite these run-ins, Thoppi remains a widely followed content creator, with lakhs of subscribers on YouTube, known for his comedic and regional content.
