YRF Denies ‘Mardaani 3’ Promotion Row

Production house rejects claims linking Delhi missing girls rumours to film publicity

February 6, 2026: Yash Raj Films (YRF) on Friday firmly denied social media allegations that recent viral claims about a surge in “missing girls” in Delhi were part of a promotional strategy for Mardaani 3. The controversy surfaced after unverified reports claimed a sharp rise in missing persons in the capital during the first 15 days of 2026, prompting speculation online. Some netizens and political figures alleged that the panic was being fuelled to promote the Rani Mukerji-starrer, which released on January 30 and revolves around crimes against women.

Responding to ANI, a YRF spokesperson called the allegations “completely false and unethical,” stressing the studio’s long-standing values. “Yash Raj Films is a 50-year-old company founded on the core principles of being highly ethical and transparent. We strongly deny the accusations that Mardaani 3’s promotional campaign has sensationalised such a sensitive issue,” the statement said, adding that the studio trusts authorities to place facts in the public domain.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police debunked the claims of a spike in missing girls, stating that the rumours were being spread through paid promotions to create panic. In an official post on X, police warned of strict action against those spreading misinformation for monetary gain. Delhi Police PRO Sanjay Tyagi clarified that January 2026 actually recorded fewer missing-person cases compared to the same period last year, and assured citizens that there was no cause for alarm. He reiterated that dedicated police units and transparent reporting mechanisms are in place, and no organised gangs linked to child kidnappings have been found.
