Zeenat Aman’s Heartbreaking Confession: ‘My Husband Cheated on Me in Our First Year of Marriage’

November 7, 2024: Bollywood legend Zeenat Aman endured years of betrayal and hardship in her marriage to actor Mazhar Khan. Their 12-year union was marred by infidelity and a prolonged illness that left Zeenat drained and disillusioned. Despite recognizing the flaws in her marriage almost immediately, she stayed, hoping to preserve stability for her two young sons.

In an old but candid interview with Simi Garewal, Zeenat opened up about the harsh reality she faced. Early into her marriage, Mazhar’s affair became public knowledge, splashed across magazine pages. “There was a big article about the woman he was seeing,” Zeenat shared. Still, she stayed, initially for the sake of her children and later out of a sense of duty as Mazhar’s health declined.

Throughout Mazhar’s illness, Zeenat took on the role of caregiver, managing everything from learning medical procedures to arranging overseas treatments. She hoped her dedication would somehow mend her marriage, yet it only took more from her. As Mazhar’s addiction to prescription drugs worsened, it led to irreversible damage to his kidneys, leaving her with the burden of caring for a man who was both physically and emotionally deteriorating.

Reflecting on those years, Zeenat described the overwhelming emotional toll. “After years of giving everything, I was left with nothing,” she said, recalling how she nearly broke under the pressure, with no support or acknowledgment for her sacrifices.

Ultimately, witnessing Mazhar’s self-destruction and lack of accountability became too much to bear. Zeenat chose to leave the marriage, walking away without regret. “Most women wouldn’t have endured as much as I did,” she declared, affirming that her decision was long overdue.
