New Delhi [India]: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda said that the detailed report concerning the death of the party leader in Bihar during a protest march exposes the brutality and insensitivity of the Nitish government towards jungle raj prevailing in Bihar.
A four-member panel of the BJP probing the death of a party leader Vijay Singh allegedly during the lathi charge by the police in Patna during a protest march against the Bihar government’s teacher recruitment policy submitted its report to party president Nadda.
“A detailed report of the developments was received from the BJP’s inquiry committee constituted in the context of the Nitish government-led lathicharge on BJP workers in Patna,” Nadda tweeted.
He further tweeted, “It exposes the brutality and insensitivity of the state government towards jungle raj, anarchy and opposition parties prevailing in Bihar.”
Earlier on July 14, BJP national president constituted a four-member committee to probe the police lathi-charge on a protest march in Patna on Thursday in which a party leader was allegedly killed and several others were seriously injured.
The four-member inquiry committee includes former Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das, and three MPs — Manoj Tiwari, Vishnu Dayal Ram and Sunita Duggal.
The BJP claimed that Vijay Singh died after sustaining grievous injuries in the police lathi charge while the party members were carrying a protest march to the Bihar Assembly against the government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
At the protest rally, the BJP put forward a raft of demands, including an amendment to the teachers’ recruitment policy in the state.
The party alleged that during the protest, the police fired tear gas shells and used water canons on protesting BJP leaders and workers to stop them from marching to the Assembly.
