Zendaya has shared some intriguing insights about the upcoming third season of Euphoria, where she plays Rue.
In an interview , she mentioned that there will be a time jump between seasons two and three, which she believes is essential given the show’s focus on high school drama. She quipped, “There’s only so much high school drama you can deal with,” suggesting that this shift will allow for more complex storytelling beyond the high school setting.
While Zendaya, who also serves as an executive producer, didn’t divulge many plot details, she expressed her excitement about exploring the characters’ lives outside of high school. She stated, “It will be fascinating to see and understand these characters… in a much bigger world.” This indicates a significant evolution in the narrative as it examines how their past experiences shape their adulthood.
The production for season three is set to begin in January 2025, and it will see the return of main cast members, including Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow. However, Barbie Ferreira announced she would not be returning, and the show mourns the loss of Angus Cloud, who tragically passed away in July 2023.
Sydney Sweeney, who portrays Cassie Howard, also expressed her excitement about the new season, noting the unique opportunity presented by the time jump and the growth it allows for her character.
