Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda has been discharged from Criticare Hospital in Mumbai following a bullet injury he sustained earlier this week.
On Friday, he made his first public appearance, thanking his well-wishers for their prayers and support.
After exiting the hospital, he spoke with media personnel and thanked his well-wishers for their prayers.
“I thank everyone for their prayers… I thank CM Shinde, police and the press. I especially thank my fans for praying so much for me. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for their love,” Govinda said.
He was seen in a wheelchair with his leg in a cast and accompanied by family members.
The injury occurred on October 1 when Govinda was allegedly preparing to leave for Kolkata and misfired his licensed revolver while placing it in a cupboard. His manager, Shashi Sinha, explained that the gun slipped from Govinda’s hand, resulting in the accidental discharge.
Doctors have advised him to rest for 3-4 weeks while he continues with physiotherapy.
Celebrities including director David Dhawan and actors Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty visited him in the hospital to check on his health following the incident.
