Hardik Pandya rose two places to tie with Sri Lankan star Wanindu Hasaranga as the top-ranked men’s T20I all-rounder on Wednesday, according to the ICC official website.
Pandya, who made significant contributions in the T20 World Cup final by taking crucial wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller, had an outstanding tournament with both bat and ball, becoming the first Indian man to reach No.1 in this category.
Throughout the tournament, Pandya made impactful cameos down the order with the bat and provided crucial breakthroughs with the ball. He finished with 144 runs at a batting strike rate of over 150 and took 11 wickets. His most crucial performance came in the final, where his decisive blow—Klaasen’s wicket—shifted the game in India’s favor. Pandya went on to bowl the tense final over, defending 16 runs to help India secure the T20 World Cup title.
In other notable movements within the top 10 T20I all-rounder rankings, Marcus Stoinis, Sikandar Raza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Liam Livingstone each rose by one spot, while Mohammad Nabi fell by four spots, exiting the top five.
Among the men’s T20I bowling rankings, Anrich Nortje climbed seven places to a career-best second spot, just behind top-ranked Adil Rashid with 675 rating points. India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who won the Player of the Tournament award at the T20 World Cup for his 15 wickets, surged up 12 spots to just outside the top ten, his highest position since the end of 2020.
Kuldeep Yadav also entered the top ten of the bowling rankings, moving up three spots to joint-eighth. Other notable advancements included Arshdeep Singh, who climbed four spots to a career-best No.13 after topping the wickets chart at the T20 World Cup, and Tabraiz Shamsi, who rose five positions to reach the top 15.
In the men’s T20I batting rankings, there was minimal movement within the top ten, with the only change being South Africa skipper Aiden Markram dropping two points after an ordinary tournament with the bat.
