We have great news for all Harry Potter fans! The magic of Harry Potter is here again with a promo of the much anticipated ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ movie, that was dropped by Warner Bros. yesterday!
The film is based on a book written by JK Rowling that was also adapted into a play written by Jack Thorne for theatre. The script is considered to be the official 8th Book of the Harry Potter series.
The 2:46 mins promo begins at Hogwarts, with the sorting hat, deciding the fate of Albus Severus Potter, son of Harry, who appears to be struggling with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.
The promo shows us glimpses of the impending doom and the resurrection of Voldemort even as Albus, Harry’s son is taken away from his parents.
The story is set nineteen years after the events of the it’s 2007 novel and the Deathly Hallows by Rowling. Harry, who is now Head of the Departmnet of Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic, appears to struggle with a heavy work load clubbed with duties of a husband and a father of three school-age children, of which Albus is seemingly resentful of his father.
Harry also grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, while, his youngest son, Albus, must fight his own demons. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places. The promos is extremely intriguing, exciting and reminiscent of the magic of Potter in the initial films of the franchisee, though sadly, it does not fix a release date and only says coming soon!
Also reminding all our readers of another update on the Harry Potter franchise that was made earlier this year, by Warner Bros., about the rebooting of Harry Potter as a television series for HBO. The series, which will consist of seven seasons, each based on one of the books by JK Rowling, is said to be a more “faithful adaptation” than the films.
