Andrew Garfield & Florence Pugh Lose Track of Time During Love Scene in We Live in Time

9th Oct, 2024: Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh experienced an unexpected moment while filming a love scene for their upcoming movie We Live in Time. Their chemistry was so intense that they both missed the cue to stop filming.

While promoting the movie at the 92nd Street Y event on Friday, Garfield humorously recounted the story of how the passionate scene went a bit too far. He revealed that during the first take, neither he nor Pugh heard the director yell “cut,” which led to an awkward yet memorable moment.

Filmed on a closed set with only a few crew members present, Garfield explained how the scene escalated beyond what was planned. “The scene becomes passionate, as we choreographed it. And we get into it, as it were, and we go a little further than we were meant to just because we never heard ‘cut,’” he said.

John Crowley, the film’s director, was in a different room during filming, leaving Garfield and Pugh to their own devices until they noticed crew members facing the wall in an effort to give them privacy. Despite the momentary confusion, Garfield emphasized that both he and Pugh felt safe on set and trusted the process.

We Live in Time, set to premiere in U.S. theaters on October 11, tells the story of two characters whose lives are forever changed after a chance encounter.
