“Raging LA wildfires destroy celebrity homes and force evacuations near iconic Hollywood landmarks.”
January 9, 2025: A fast-moving wildfire broke out in the Hollywood Hills on Wednesday night, threatening one of Los Angeles’ most iconic locations, the Hollywood Bowl, and nearby celebrity homes. The devastating blaze, located just a mile away from the Hollywood Walk of Fame, has already claimed several celebrity residences while others remain perilously close to the unrelenting flames.
This is from my hood. Look at the sky. That is smoke, not clouds from a fire that has consumed over 2,900 acres and remains uncontained. It’s left so many homes and buildings without power and killed at least two people, with more left with significant injuries.

Hollywood Homes Prone and Affected
Several Hollywood celebrities’ homes are situated dangerously close to the wildfire’s path. According to Page Six, a detailed map of the affected area reveals the celebrity residences in jeopardy. “Schitt’s Creek” star Eugene Levy’s home has already been destroyed, along with the properties of actor Adam Brody and his wife, “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester, Anna Faris, James Woods, and reality TV stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.
It’s daytime in Los Angeles and the damage in Pacific Palisades between Malibu and Santa Monica is devastation. The fires are still raging elsewhere with at least 75,000 people evacuated.

A wild fire like this in winter is unheard of, especially in the city of LA. pic.twitter.com/jTr2drXMrr
On the western side of the wildfire, homes in Malibu belonging to Miley Cyrus and “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill are at risk. On the eastern side in Santa Monica, actor Jamie Lee Curtis’s home lies in close proximity. Just north, properties of Michael Keaton, Tom Hanks, and Rita Wilson are under threat. Further up in Pacific Palisades, the homes of filmmaker Steven Spielberg and actors Diane Keaton and Ben Affleck are at risk.
Ben Affleck was seen evacuating his $20 million bachelor pad, purchased after his recent divorce from Jennifer Lopez. Reports state he was distressed while driving to seek refuge at his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s home.
Stars like Mandy Moore, Cary Elwes, and Paris Hilton have reported losing their homes to the fires. Additionally, Billy Crystal and his wife Janice mourn the loss of their Palisades residence, which they had owned for 45 years.
The LA Wildfire Crisis
The ongoing wildfires have wreaked havoc across the Los Angeles metropolitan area, with over 1,000 structures destroyed, the majority of them homes. More than 130,000 residents are under evacuation orders. Firefighters from other states have joined the efforts, but with four fires burning out of control, the danger remains critical.
The fires have scorched a total area of about 42 square miles, approximately the size of San Francisco, leaving a trail of destruction and displacing countless families. Authorities warn that containment efforts could take days, with worsening conditions predicted due to high winds and dry vegetation.
