Box Office: Kannappa Eyes ₹20 Cr Opening – Vishnu Manchu Set to Deliver Tollywood’s 4th Biggest Day 1 in 2025?

With cameos from Prabhas, Mohanlal & Akshay Kumar, Kannappa banks on pan-India appeal for a thunderous start; targets ₹17–20 crore net on debut.

Hyderabad, June 27, 2025 — Vishnu Manchu’s mythological action epic Kannappa is all set to hit theatres on June 27, and early predictions hint at a power-packed opening day. With grand visuals, a pan-India star cast, and significant buzz in Telugu-speaking regions, the film is poised to become Tollywood’s fourth biggest opener of 2025.

Pan-India Star Power Driving Hype

The film has generated strong buzz largely due to star-studded cameos:

  • Prabhas (Telugu superstar)
  • Mohanlal (Malayalam legend)
  • Akshay Kumar (Bollywood icon)

This multi-industry casting strategy is expected to boost footfalls across South India and parts of the North, despite the film being primarily targeted at the Telugu-speaking audience.

Mixed Response to Trailer, But Buzz Holds

While the trailer evoked mixed reactions for its Baahubali-inspired tone and visual effects, the ongoing promotional blitz and star interviews have kept the film trending across social platforms. Industry trackers believe the curiosity factor around the mythological narrative and the Prabhas-Akshay-Mohanlal trio could deliver solid opening numbers.

Box Office Prediction:

Early estimates suggest Kannappa could earn ₹17–20 crore net at the Indian box office on day 1. A major chunk of this is expected from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, thanks to Prabhas’ cameo.

If it reaches the upper end of this range, it will surpass Nani’s HIT 3 (₹19 crore) to become the 4th biggest Tollywood opener of 2025.

Top Tollywood Openers of 2025 (India, Net):

  1. Game Changer – ₹54 crore

  3. Sankranthiki Vasthunam – ₹23 crore
  4. HIT: The Third Case – ₹19 crore
  5. Kuberaa – ₹13.5 crore

Final Word:

All eyes are now on the audience word of mouth and critical reviews, which will determine if Kannappa can maintain its momentum beyond the opening weekend and justify its mega-budget gamble.
