Aarya Babbar on Prateik Babbar Wedding: “He Disrespected Smita Maa by Not Inviting His Dad”

Actor Aarya Babbar has spoken out about being excluded from his brother Prateik Patil Babbar’s intimate wedding to actress Priya Banerjee. While acknowledging Prateik’s choice to not invite him, their sister Juhi Babbar, or stepmother Nadira Babbar, Aarya believes that leaving out Raj Babbar, the one person Smita Patil truly loved, was a sign of disrespect to their late mother.

“He may have had his reasons for not inviting Nadira maa, me, or Juhi, but at least he should have invited his father, the man Smita maa loved. This is disrespectful to her,” Aarya told a publication.

Family Ties Broken?

Aarya revealed that Prateik has not been answering any of the family’s calls for months. He described the wedding snub as extremely hurtful and expressed concern that external influences may be responsible for his brother’s decision.

Despite the rift, Aarya’s WhatsApp display picture still features a happy family photo with Prateik, showing that he still holds on to the past. “I feel hurt, but I can’t bring myself to change the picture. I just hope things work out for him,” he added.

Prateik and Priya Banerjee tied the knot in a private ceremony on Valentine’s Day at Smita Patil’s Bandra home. While the wedding was deeply personal and emotional for Prateik, the absence of the Babbar family has fueled speculation about strained relations.

With no communication from Prateik, Aarya remains uncertain about whether their family will reconcile. He hopes that his brother finds happiness but believes that taking such a big step without parental blessings is unfortunate.
