Following Payne’s untimely demise after a fall from the third-floor balcony of his hotel in Buenos Aires, an old video from 2017 has resurfaced, reigniting speculation surrounding Payne’s past encounter with Diddy.

The video, in which Payne recounts an eerie moment with Diddy, has fuelled rumours that the singer’s death might not have been accidental. Back in 2017, during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Payne described an unsettling handshake with Diddy at a celebrity party. “I went over to speak to him and Jay-Z, and when I shook his hand, he just laughed… [Diddy had] the most evil laugh I’ve ever heard,” Payne shared. He also mentioned that Diddy held onto his hand for what seemed like the “longest handshake ever,” which left him deeply uncomfortable.

The resurfaced video has spurred social media users, especially on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), to question whether Payne’s death is part of a larger pattern of mysterious celebrity deaths. Many are drawing links to Diddy’s legal issues, which include charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, feeding into the theory that Payne’s fall might have been more than just an accident.

While these conspiracy theories are gaining traction online, Buenos Aires Security Ministry communications director Pablo Policicchio stated that Payne had jumped from the balcony of his hotel room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.
