Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who sustained multiple stab injuries during a burglary attempt at his Bandra residence on January 16, recorded his statement with the police on Thursday. The harrowing incident unfolded at the actor’s Satguru Sharan apartment, leaving his family shaken.

Recalling the night of the attack, Saif narrated that he and his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, were in their bedroom on the 11th floor when they were jolted awake by the screams of their younger son’s nanny, Eliyama Philips. Rushing to the children’s room, they discovered the alleged attacker, Sariful Islam, a Bangladeshi national who had illegally entered India last year.

According to police sources, Saif tried to confront the intruder, who then stabbed him multiple times on his back, neck, and hands. Despite his injuries, the actor managed to push the assailant into a room, allowing Ms. Philips to escape with baby Jeh and lock the attacker inside.

The Bandra police confirmed that the family, including Kareena and their two sons, Jeh and Taimur, were present during the attack. The intruder, who reportedly climbed up to their 12th-floor apartment, initially intended to commit burglary but turned violent when confronted.
Following a three-day intensive manhunt involving 20 police teams, the suspect was apprehended in Thane, near Mumbai.
The investigation into the incident continues, with heightened focus on celebrity security and vulnerabilities in high-rise buildings in Mumbai.
