YSRCP’s Lakshmi Parvathi Blames Chandrababu Naidu for Allu Arjun’s Arrest

“Actor Allu Arjun’s arrest over the Sandhya Theatre stampede sparks criticism from political leaders and fans, with calls for dignified conduct.”

Hyderabad (Telangana), December 13: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Lakshmi Parvathi has accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of being behind the arrest of Telugu superstar Allu Arjun, following the tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre on December 4 during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule.

Parvathi alleged that Naidu has influence in Telangana and blamed the government for failing to ensure proper arrangements at the event. “Allu Arjun’s arrest is painful, and Chandrababu Naidu has a hand in everything. Allu Arjun did nothing wrong. It is the government’s fault for not making proper arrangements,” she said.

The stampede claimed the life of a woman and injured her son, leading to a police investigation. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) L. Ramesh Kumar confirmed the actor’s arrest, saying he was taken to Gandhi Hospital for a medical examination and later produced before Nampally Court.

The arrest has drawn criticism from several quarters, including Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). Taking to X (formerly Twitter), KTR condemned the handling of the case, saying, “Arrest of National Award-winning star Allu Arjun is the pinnacle of insecurity of the rulers! I totally sympathize with the victims of the stampede, but who failed really? Treating @alluarjun Garu as a common criminal is uncalled for, especially for something he isn’t directly responsible for.”

Earlier, Allu Arjun sought relief by filing a petition with the High Court to quash the FIR against him. The arrest, however, has sparked outrage among fans and political leaders, raising questions about accountability and government conduct.
