“Agar uske liye achha kaam aata hai, toh wo kyu nahi karegi? Aap log mauka toh do kaam karne ka. Nepotism band karo na. Doosre logon ko bhi kaam karne ka mauka to do. Aap ek hi group mein sabko…wohi group mein kaam hota hai. Baahar bhi toh dekho, log aur bhi baithe hain,” said Sunita passionately. (If she gets a good opportunity, why wouldn’t she work? Give her a chance. Stop nepotism. Look beyond the same group of people. There’s talent waiting outside this circle too.)

Frustration Over Bollywood’s Groupism

Sunita further emphasized how Bollywood’s favor towards a select group of actors keeps many talented individuals sidelined. She questioned how often audiences can see the same faces repeatedly while ignoring deserving fresh talent.

“Abhi ek hi actor ko aap kitni baar dekhoge?” (How many times will you see the same actor?) she asked, pointing out the industry’s repetitive choices.

Tina Ahuja’s Bollywood Journey

Tina Ahuja made her Bollywood debut in 2015 with the romantic comedy Second Hand Husband. Despite her father’s iconic legacy and her talent, she struggled to find her footing in the competitive industry. She has since featured in music videos like Milo Na Tum (2019) and Driving Me Crazy (2020).

Hope for Equal Opportunities

Sunita urged Bollywood to create a fair playing field for everyone, calling for an end to favoritism and the opening of doors for talented individuals, irrespective of their background.

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja are also parents to Yashvardhan Ahuja, who is set to make his acting debut in a love story directed by Sai Rajesh.

The call for inclusivity and fair play in Bollywood remains an ongoing conversation, and Sunita Ahuja’s remarks add weight to the demand for equal opportunities in the entertainment industry.
