January 10, 2025: As Southern California battles raging wildfires that have claimed lives and destroyed neighbourhoods, Siddharth Mallya, son of fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya, has shared an update from Los Angeles. Siddharth, who is based in London with his wife Jasmine, assured followers of their safety while expressing solidarity with those affected by the disaster.

Taking to social media, Siddharth posted a photo from Los Angeles, writing, “Thank you everyone who reached out. Jasmine, myself, and the animals are safe. If anyone in LA needs anything, please reach out to us.” Siddharth and Jasmine, who married last year in a private ceremony in London, are currently in Los Angeles, far from the worst-hit areas.

The Wildfire Crisis in Southern California

Since Tuesday, the wildfires have claimed at least 10 lives, destroyed luxury mansions, and displaced thousands. Notable celebrities, including Paris Hilton and Anthony Hopkins, have lost their homes. In an emotional post, Hilton shared, “My heart aches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses. The devastation is unimaginable.”

California’s National Guard has been deployed to manage the chaos, with helicopters working round the clock to douse the flames. President Joe Biden has pledged federal support, announcing that the government will cover the costs of measures to protect lives and property for six months.

However, challenges persist as new fires continue to ignite, fueled by strong winds returning after a brief respite.
