In an interview with Extra, the 67-year-old actor joked, “It’s too naughty for them to see, and they probably do figure out how to see it.”

Protecting His Kids From Mature Themes

Costner, who shares three children with his wife Christine Baumgartner—Cayden, Hayes, and Grace—takes a protective approach when it comes to exposing them to the show’s mature themes.
“Listen, a lot of my movies have some of those themes, so they are going to find them in the course of their life,” Costner explained.

He added that while his children might eventually discover his works, he hopes they stumble upon some of his more wholesome projects first, such as Fandango.

Costner’s daughter Lily even collaborated with him musically, lending her voice to the song Heaven’s Gate with his band Modern West. The track was featured in the Tales from Yellowstone album and made its way into the show itself.
