Malaika Arora Breaks Silence on Arjun Kapoor’s ‘I Am Single’ Comment: “It’s Time to Move On”

Malaika Arora reflects on her breakup with Arjun Kapoor and her readiness for a fresh start as she responds to his recent statement about being single.

December 26, 2024: Malaika Arora has finally responded to her ex-boyfriend Arjun Kapoor’s recent comment about being single. The actress, who had remained tight-lipped about their breakup, spoke out in an interview with Etimes following Arjun’s remark during the promotional event for his upcoming film Singham Again.

During the event, Arjun told the paparazzi, “Nahin, ab main single hoon, relax karo” (No, I am now single. Relax), effectively confirming his separation from Malaika. While the statement went viral, Malaika chose not to publicly address it until now.

In her response, Malaika stated, “I am a very private person, and there are certain aspects of my life that I prefer to keep personal. I don’t believe in using a public platform to discuss such matters. Whatever Arjun has said is his prerogative. It has been a challenging year for many reasons, and I believe it’s time for all of us to move forward from the past. I am ready to embrace the new year and begin a fresh chapter in my life.”

Malaika and Arjun, who began dating in 2018, kept their relationship mostly out of the public eye. Though they shared glimpses of their love on social media, they rarely spoke about their private lives. Despite their breakup earlier this year, Arjun continued to be a support system for Malaika, especially after the passing of her father. Speaking about this, Arjun shared in a recent interview with Raj Shamani, “When I form an emotional bond with someone, I will always be there, regardless of the circumstances. It’s not about public attention for me; it’s about being there for the people who matter.”
