'Vidaamuyarchi' Star Ajith Kumar Reveals Narrow Escape After ‘Disastrous Crash’ During Portugal Race Practice

February 10, 2025: Actor-racer Ajith Kumar recently revealed details of a serious mishap during a practice session ahead of the Portugal race at Estoril Circuit. In a candid conversation on the sidelines, Ajith described the incident as a "bad crash" but assured fans that he was unhurt, thanks to his team’s quick intervention.

Ajith, who recently resumed competitive racing with his own team, Ajith Kumar Racing, spoke about the thrill of returning to the track. “It feels great to be racing here in Estoril on the track. It’s very surreal to be sitting in the car on the circuit. It’s a proud moment, actually. It’s a very technical circuit, and I’m glad my timing is getting better. It’s been a good weekend so far.”

He then recounted the crash during his practice run. “This morning, it was disastrous in practice when I crashed. I had a bad crash. Thanks to my team, they put the car together, and I had to go straight for the qualifying. A nerve-wracking moment for me, you know,” he shared.

Ajith also expressed gratitude to his fans for their growing interest in motorsport, saying, “I am so happy that they started to follow this sport that I love so much. I’m extremely grateful not just to the fans but to everybody back home who has been following me and wanting to know what I’m up to. I give my thanks to all of them.”

Previous Crash in Dubai:
This isn’t the first racing mishap Ajith has encountered recently. Last month, during a practice run at the 24H Dubai race, Ajith’s car hit a barrier. While the accident totaled his race car, Ajith escaped unscathed and resumed practice in another vehicle.

On the Work Front:
Ajith was last seen in Vidaamuyarchi and is set to star in Good Bad Ugly. However, the actor has made it clear that he will only shoot for films during non-racing seasons, reaffirming his commitment to his passion for motorsport.
